ADMINISTRATION AND Service

Alex E. Blazer serves as the Literature Coordinator for the Department of English, member of the Master's Exam and Portfolio Committee, and founder and editor of The Department of English Newsletter. As an elected University Senator representing the Department of English, he is Secretary of the University Senate and serves as Secretary of Executive Committee of University Senate, and he also serves on the Subcommittee on Nominations.

 

He previously served as Interim Co-Chair of the Department of English as well as the Teaching Fellows Coordinator. His past departmental service includes department webmast and serving on search committees (Early American, Fiction Writing) and chairing search committees (Film, Poetry). He has served on and chaired the MA Exam & Portfolio Committee and served on the tenure and promotion committee. His past college and university service includes the College of Arts & Sciences Curriculum & Instruction Committee, the Convocation Book Committee, the University Senate Academic Policy Committee, the University Senate Curriculum and Assessment Policy Committee, the University Senate Faculty Affairs Policy Committee, the University Curriculum Committee, the Tenure & Promotion Task Force, and the Parking & Transportation Advisory Committee.

 

He also serves student organizations as the advisor of the Anime Club, the student organization devoted to discussing and watching anime. Previously, he advised the Secular Student Alliance.
