Templates AND FILE FORMATS
MLA Style Templates
Use the MLA handout and for basics in MLA styled formatting, quoting, and citing. Feel free to use the following templates that are already formatted to MLA style.
File Format Conversion
Your assignments are graded using Microsoft Word Comments; therefore all assignments must be submitted in a file format that is compatible with Word Comments: Microsoft Word (docx), OpenOffice/LibreOffice (odt), or Rich-Text Format (rtf). Portable Document Format (pdf) and Apple Pages (pages) are not compatible with Word Comments.
As a student, you have access to Microsoft Office 365. Apache OpenOffice and LibreOffice are free. If you compose your assignment using Apple Pages (pages), or Google Docs, then you must convert it to Word format (docx) before submitting it. It is your responsibility to learn how to convert the file format. Here are some helpful links:
- Apple Pages > Click File > Export to > Word
- Google Docs > Click File > Download as > Microsoft Word (docx)
Note that proper MLA formatting may be lost in the conversion process. It is your responsibility to verify and correct MLA formatting before submitting.
